Meet Makenna: Maize South HS/Renegades Softball

Interview:

Tell us about yourself.

My name is Makenna Majors and I am 15 years old. I play high school softball at Maize South HS and summer ball for the club team, Kansas Renegades. I am a pitcher and play middle infield.

What areas of strength training have helped you in the sport of softball?

Before seeing Anna, I was struggling with pitch speed and using my legs in my swing. I have worked on leg strength and leg power drills. Core strength is another area Anna has helped me in that’s helped me get stronger as a hitter and pitcher. Working with her as helped me notice that I have started utilizing my core strength and have more power in my pitch and swing. I have learned how to use certain muscles and having correct form lifting helps me on the field.

What would you consider your strengths when it comes to the game? And what do you love most about playing?

A few of my strengths are I am very motivated, I am coachable, and I am very supportive of my teammates. Some things I love about softball is getting to be myself and knowing I have my team behind me and always having them support me.

One of my biggest goals in softball right now, is to play at Pitt State in college.
